Senior Investment Trader

The Senior Investment Trader position will be located at the Company’s Head Office in Madison House. It will report to the Investment Manager and will work closely with other team members in order to effectively manage the investment portfolios of our customers.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and track all investment action points and ensure that they are traded in the Fund Management system in a timely and accurate manner.
Negotiate the best market rates with respect to securities and fixed income instruments being cognizant of risk-return trade-off, commissions charged while trading.
Assist in managing the Company’s trading portfolio both fixed income and equities in order to maximize returns.
Maintaining contact with key players in the industry to provide market intelligence that is likely to affect the financial markets.
Monitor cash movements in the Custody accounts and ensure all outstanding settlements and maturities are acted on in a timely manner.
Act as the company’s liaison with Issuers of Investment Instruments and ensure smooth operations.
Participate in Investment Committee meetings and provide insight into maximizing trading income in the Company’s trading portfolio for the various clients under the Company’s mandate.
Participate in the evaluation, formulation, and implementation of investment strategies as a member of the investment committee.

 
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies
Qualified candidates are expected to possess the following;

At least 4 years’ experience in Trading and Research Analysis of NSE Listed Securities 2 of which should have been in this position;
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business studies in a related field;
Postgraduate qualifications in Investments – CISI Module 2 Finalist and pursuit of CIFA/CFA;
Training on ATS trading of Equities and Fixed Income and also Valuation Models;
A high degree of maturity and self-drive with a high degree of integrity;
Effective research and analytical skills;
Strong administrative and negotiation skills; Excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent Microsoft office skills [excel, word and power point].
