Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – Maternity Cover, Kenya

We’re seeking a maternity cover for one of our MEL officer to support our MEL work for the next 4 months. You will ensure the development/implementation of appropriate monitoring, tracking and reporting systems, tools and templates that enhance monitoring of program outputs and quality, generate quality evidence on program outcomes, and promote and ensure use of data for decision-making processes. You will also ensure adherence to quality MEL systems and standards throughout the life cycle of the program; strengthening staff capacity in MEL; promoting sharing of MEL knowledge and best practices; and incorporating MEL results into improved programming.
This person will lead in the development of high-quality MEL processes, tools and systems to collect, store and analyse monitoring data, integrate mobile technologies/ICT4D into data collection plans, ensure industry data quality standards are followed, provide and/or develop training or capacity building solutions appropriate for field staff and provide organizational-level monitoring system support.
An experienced professional, you will have excellent knowledge and experience in designing, implementing, and operating M&E systems from project initiation to close out with a minimum of five years of experience working in the field of monitoring and evaluation in an international NGO. You will also have experience in indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and performance monitoring plans.
