IT Manager

Responsibilities
The primary focus will be on managing Technology and Information Security, Support, Purchases and Legal Obligations. In collaboration with cross functional partners and local Credit Bureau teams, the IT Manager will develop, execute and monitor a strategic technology and information plan for the group of companies worldwide. The IT Manager will be responsible for aligning the strategic technology and information plan with the overall business strategy and for integrating company processes and technologies.  
Security of all IT & data related issues for Creditinfo Kenya and all subsidiaries worldwide.

Identify and monitor technology risks that could impact the company
Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
Manage and assist in performing security monitoring of information systems including assessing information security risk.
Perform regular inspections of systems and network processes and ensure security updates are up to date.

Security of Software (SW) and Protection of software IP

Both that which is provided from Group and also sourced locally
Code secure; so that it’s not vulnerable for attacks
Ensure software compliance to regulatory environments
Actively ensure appropriate administrative, physical and technical safeguards are in place to protect Creditinfo’s information assets from internal and external threats
Documentation of own and 3rd party tailored solutions
Control over access to source code to prevent leaks/theft

In-house support systems/business support systems

Review current systems and develop, implement, maintain and monitor best practice technology initiatives and improvements where required for all Creditinfo Kenya operations.
Roadmap for internal systems used.
Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including servers, routers, switches, hubs, UPSs.
Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software. Responsible for on-site and off-site data centers.
Perform regular inspections of systems and network processes and ensure security updates are up to date.
Assist in managing and planning various resources, deadline, results, and quality necessary for a specific project, and monitor the project’s progress in order to achieve a specific goal within a set time and budget.
Coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization’s network.
Management of IT incidences, support issues and services fulfilment.
Test network, database, server’s performance and publish performance statistics and reports; develop plans for maintaining network infrastructure.
Access controls (of staff, contractors, clients) e.g. regular changes of password, no former staff with access, etc.

Technology Purchases

both HW and SW to improve efficiency and optimize costs reductions whilst ensuring high quality service delivery.
Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.

Maintaining up to date legal technology standards and compliance regulations in cooperation with Group Legal Services and Group Global Technology

Including Data handling from data protection and access point of view
Ensure effective staff training programs are frequently conducted to increase security awareness.
Business continuity and disaster recovery plans, etc.
