Panagora Group, a woman-owned small business specializing in global health and international development, seeks an experienced Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist for the anticipated USAID/Kenya and East Africa (KEA) Mission Support for Journey to Self-Reliance Pivot Activity.
This is a long-term position based in Nairobi, Kenya. The position is contingent upon award and USAID approval.
Responsibilities:
Support the Mission in process and system strengthening, including mission orders, templates, and tools and develop and maintain knowledge management and communications systems to capture institutional memory to meet tactical and strategic needs.
Provide editorial services for documents and presentations, including formatting, style and accuracy of a text, grammar and punctuation and copy editing.
Develop well written information and knowledge products such as case studies and evaluations summaries with high quality photos, videos, infographics or stories to be printed and used at events.
Train and support country-level performance monitoring staff in knowledge management and communications.
Design, develop, and facilitate effective collaboration opportunities between and among USAID/KEA and its partners.
Collaborate with team to identify, strengthen, and add value to existing communication and knowledge management practices and processes in support of USAID/KEA.
Provide support to the Organizational Development Specialist as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, knowledge management, public health, international development, or related field
Minimum of four years of experience in knowledge management and communications, experience working in public health, and/or USAID-funded projects strongly preferred
Proven organizational and management skills, ability to work independently and in teams in a multi-cultural context
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrate good judgment, possesses sensitivity and understanding of how messaging impacts diverse audiences
Excellent computer skills in a full range of software, including: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite, Infographic Progras and/or other graphics programs.
Proven ability to organize, summarize, and rewrite technical information for non-expert audiences.
Experience facilitating workshops and trainings in communication skills.
Familiarity with social media.
Strong proficiency in written and spoken English (required) and Kiswahili (preferred).
