General Manager Front-End Design: Software Developer(s)

Job description
We are looking for a highly energetic, self-motivated and results driven general manager. WapiPay is a financial technology (fintech) company and one of WapiCapital Ltd subsidiary companies. We began operation in 2018 to connect Africa’s, China and SouthEast Asia’s payments and mobile money platforms to improve the payment experience which takes up to five days as well as reduce exchange costs to further accelerate trade between the two corridors.
Responsibilities

You will be part of the Management Team and will shape the future of our business development strategy and execution
You will identify areas of improvement and drive them with your team through to execution
You will build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and business partners
You will actively look for new marketing and operational business partnerships
You will document user needs and feedback and input into product development
You will manage and drive day to day operations of the company
You will set up and grow the team, develop structures, developing processes, overseeing staff, establish a highly motivated work environment, and create innovative approaches for improvement
You will assume full responsibility for the P&L and continuously develop initiatives to grow revenue and optimize expenses
Based from our Westlands – Nairobi office, you will collaborate closely with an extensive network of cross-functional stakeholders representing all departments in order to bring our business to the next level

Skills and qualifications

You have 3 – 5 years proven track record from working in startups, consulting or general management experience in larger teams with considerable P&L experience
You are keen on working in a fast moving/high-performance environment
You are an experienced team lead: You love to mentor and motivate your teams but also enjoy direct ownership in driving your own initiatives
You have an analytical and structured way of working, logical thinking skills and you are able to obtain fast solutions while working independently
You are proficient in data analysis and can utilise new analytical tools – data driven decision making
You have 3 – 5 years of experience in sales and marketing or financial services (ideally in B2B cross-border payments, money transfer, mobile money, treasury management, FX risk management)
You have access to a large network of local decision-makers within corporates/fintechs/banks.
You have a proven track record of developing and closing complex sales deals from the ground up.
You have excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, presentation, and listening skills.
You a creative problem solver with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize immediate, short-term goals and simultaneously focus on strategic, long-term goals.
Advanced Microsoft Office and Google Suite Tools skills along with the willingness and ability to become familiar with company-specific sales tools/software.
