Job DescriptionThe communications team shapes One Acre Fund’s global brand and local reputation across Sub-Saharan Africa. The Marketing Strategist will be a key component of the team and will quickly join our leadership group that shapes strategy and tactics.As One Acre Fund grows, one of our major organizational priorities is to hire top talent in our countries of operations. This associate-level role focuses primarily on inspiring dynamic African leaders to join our team. As the Marketing Strategist, you will design our approach to building brand awareness, engaging prospective candidates, and measuring the impact of our efforts. This is a unique opportunity on a global team with significant input on strategy.Responsibilities IncludeStrategy and Relationship Building

Develop an annual strategy to build our employer brand with priority audiences
Serve as a strategic partner to our recruitment team and People leadership team
Identify marketing trends in East Africa to optimize our spend and improve our outreach
Lead regular audience and market research initiatives to inform strategy

Digital Content Marketing

Evolve our content marketing initiatives to raise brand awareness and cultivate leads
Create distribution strategies across paid, owned, and earned media
Oversee all core digital brand channels (website, social, emails)
Work with in-house designers and manage several external web and ad vendors

Data and Analytics

Lead our marketing measurement to track the effectiveness of our strategies
Work within online dashboards (e.g. Google Analytics / Tag Manager and Greenhouse)
Develop clear reports for senior leaders on marketing ROI and our impact on hiring goals

Management

Manage one direct report who will execute on our digital marketing
Mentor junior staffers on partner teams (recruitment, fundraising) on marketing
Contribute to the Communications team’s development, culture and performance

The ideal candidate will have a track record of developing data-backed strategies, a passion for working in digital marketing and communications, strong project management skills, and a keen attention to detail. Candidates who fit the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply:

Minimum 5 years of marketing experience, with expertise in digital channels
Exceptional, all-round communication skills
Experience developing, executing, and assessing marketing strategies
An ability to use data insights to shape strategy, creative briefs, and content ideation
Strong knowledge of search, email, digital ads, and social media best practices
Deep experience with analytics tools (Google AdWords / Tag Manager) and reporting
Familiarity with the discipline of content marketing (direct experience is a major plus)
Strong detail orientation and an ability to manage projects with creative teams
Management experience is preferred, but not required
Prior experience in a marketing role in an East African organization or agency preferred
