Nursing Officer

This position reports to the clinical officer and is responsible for performance of basic diagnosis procedures before patients are checked by the clinical officer as well as provision of care to patients upon receipt of treatment. This includes administration of first aid and prescribed drugs to patients.
Responsibilities

Perform first aid operations and preliminary documentation of signs and symptoms to patients before the patients meet with the clinical officer to facilitate curbing of emergencies and fast service delivery by the clinical officers respectively.
Administer medical drugs to patients within the health unit to ensure intake is as prescribed.
Provide psychosocial support to patients in need as prescribed to ensure complete recovery from any illness related trauma
Monitor patients’ response to treatment within the health unit so as to identify any needed changes in treatment and escalate the same to the clinical officer for necessary action.
Organize for patients to be delivered to other referral health facilities based on the doctor’s recommendations so as to ensure patients receive the due medical care for recovery
Ensure proper recording and archiving of patients’ health information records for use in decision making when administering treatment to the patients in future

Qualifications

Must have an earned Bachelor’s / Higher Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) or its equivalent with three (3) years’ experience in Hospital set up.
Registered by Nursing Council of Kenya.
Valid practicing license.
Must be Computer Literate
