ICT Officer

Job Details

Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Information Communication Technology/Computer Science
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a training environment
Must be below 45 years of age
In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
Comply with chapter 6 of the constitution (acquire certificates of clearance from Higher Education Loans Board, a tax compliance certificate from KRA, certificate of good conduct and Ethics and Anti-corruption commission certificate)

Responsibilities

Developing, reviewing and implementing Information Communication Technology standards, policy and regulatory framework within the Polytechnic;
Ensuring repairs and maintenance of ICT equipment;
Advising on procurement of ICT software;
Providing advisory services to departments/divisions/sections/units on matters related to ICT;
Supervising setting and configuring of Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN & WAN);
Taking charge of daily computer operations;
Supervising operations at the computer laboratories;
Training the Polytechnic’s staff on the use of computers and relevant software packages;
Developing customized applications;
Carrying out research and development on ICT standards, guidelines and approaches and coordinating their constant and efficient applications in the Polytechnic; and
Liaising with hardware vendors for administration of guarantees and warranties.
