Your Role
As Distribution & Service Manager, you will be responsible for the distribution operations (similar to a FMCG company) inside KOKO Networks, as well as KOKO’s warranty & service repair programme. KOKO is making a new type of cooking fuel available to customers for the first time, through an extensive agent network. To do this, KOKO must sell and distribute a specialised cooker, which has been developed in-house, to dozens of storage locations, over a thousand retail agents, and, ultimately, to tens of thousands of customers in Nairobi. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful and cost-efficient distribution of cooking stoves to KOKO’s customers, as well as an expanded product range at a later stage.
What You Will Do

Manage the product logistics from arrival in Nairobi through to the final consumer
Plan inventory requirements, at a variety of locations throughout the supply chain
Setup of storage locations and service points throughout Nairobi
Receive, supervise handling & distribution, and ensure KOKO’s products are delivered securely to storage locations throughout Nairobi
Manage distribution sub-contractors, including trucking companies, distribution centres, and other service providers
Together with the Procurement Manager, negotiate supplier contracts and manage performance
Hire logistics and distribution team to support you in your responsibilities
Run warranty services, and reverse logistics for repair of stoves
Ensure staff and product compliance to all KOKO HSSEQ standards
Hire, train, and optimise a team of service technicians to staff the warranty function
Together with other relevant departments, set pricing for warranty and repair services
Assist the engineering team with root cause analysis of product failures and possible improvements

What You Will Bring To KOKO

University degree in a relevant field
7 years’ working experience in FMCG distribution, or a related field
Leadership experience – at least 4 years’ experience managing a team
Detailed knowledge of logistics and distribution processes
Knowledge of stock control and management of decentralised storage and distribution sites
Experience managing negotiating with subcontractors, to ensure delivery on agreed service levels
Ability to work autonomously and think on your feet
Excellent observational skills and a forward-thinking attitude
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good data analysis skillsAbility to work in a highly demanding environment
