Finance Officer

Details:
The FO shall maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure that all financial transactions comply with set institutional policies and procedures, international and local financial standards, and internal controls. More specifically the accountant shall:

Ensure timely input of data required for preparation of monthly and related financial statements
Coding and posting voucher entries into general ledger
Preparing the Balance Sheet monthly by the designated date
Managing inventory and related records
Working with the administrator to handle procurement of goods and services
Ensure tax compliance
Reconciling of the banks accounts periodically and creditor/debtors accounts and advising on how to resolve any differences
Receiving payment requests/checking to ensure accuracy and accountability
Banking including acting as bank signatory
Monitoring and reinforcing internal controls and any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Supporting program team with financial reports to donor partners
Supervising Finance & Administration staff

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Certified accountant (CPAK or international equivalent)
University degree in Finance/Economics/commerce or equivalent in professional qualifications.
At least 3 years’ experience, with proven track record of success
Knowledge of standard accounting software/systems and in particular QuickBooks
Demonstrated capacity to work with excel spreadsheets
Demonstrated ability to compile financial reports.
Knowledge of audit
Good written and interpersonal communication skills
