Job description
Role Purpose
To provide HR support to the Division President, Sub-Sahara Africa, plus the divisional management team.
The jobholder will execute HR tasks and actions covering the full spectrum of HR generalist responsibilities including; resourcing, employee relations, reward, talent management and development, performance management, employee engagement. The jobholder will be expected to manage the day-to-day HR business processes in a timely manner and based on the employee policies, guidelines and processes in place for the geography or broader company.
Organizational Structure
The jobholder will be based in Dubai and provide a generalist HR consultancy, advisory and support service to managers and staff across the Sub-Sahara Africa Division.
The jobholder will report to the SVP Human Resources (MEA), based in Dubai, UAE. The jobholder will also partner with line management and employees across the assigned business functions.
The jobholder will not have any direct reports but will have support from HR resources across the MEA HR team and broader global HR community, e.g. GBSC resources.
Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

Proactively partner with business managers to plan their future organizational structures and resourcing needs (i.e. external recruitment activity, internal talent moves, etc).
Provide HR cost estimates for headcount budgets and forecasts in consultation with broader regional HR team.
Work in partnership with the local Talent Acquisition team and HR Operations team to ensure that end to end recruitment and on-boarding processes are effectively executed.
Manage the talent assessment process across assigned business functions.
Support the development and execution of training and development initiatives across the region.
Proactively partner with business managers, the SVP Human Resources (MEA) and regional Compensation & Benefits Director to ensure that local reward packages remain appropriately competitive at all times.
Partner with business managers to execute the annual year-end process (from performance reviews/ratings through to compensation planning and annual/long-term awards).
Support the SVP Human Resources (MEA) with the development and execution of regional HR strategies/initiatives, e.g. targeted recruitment programmes to fuel the longer term talent pool; structured management development programmes to develop existing managers/high potential individuals; actions targeted at enhancing employee engagement or improving the succession bench-strength and approaches to talent management.
Manage the collation and analysis of key HRMI (such as headcount, salary costs, turnover, attendance), proactively discussing the key issues, trends and potential actions with business managers.
Provide advice, guidance and support on employee relations issues, i.e. disciplinary, grievance, employee welfare, etc
Assist in the implementation of all HR policies and processes ensuring that information is shared appropriately and timely with line managers and communicated to employees.

Experience And Qualifications Required

Degree qualified or comparable professional qualification.
Current or previous HR generalist experience, with experience in consulting with senior business leaders and coaching people leaders and employees in all aspects of HR.
Previous experience of the Sub-Sahara Africa markets would be desirable.
Strong business acumen coupled with efficient project management, negotiation and influencing skills.
Previous experience of working in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders within HR as well as within the internal client groups is preferred.
Highly motivated and a self-starter with the ability to drive local HR agenda, manage own workloads, whilst working collaboratively with others within and out with the immediate region.
Well-developed communication and influencing skills, ability to be empathetic but also take tough, commercially focused, decisions.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of employment laws and practices.
Effective team player.
High proficiency in spoken and written English.
Meticulous nature with a strong eye for detail.
Must be willing and able to travel regularly into the Sub-Sahara Africa markets.
