Responsibilities And Duties
To assist in conceptualization of ideas, research and to supervise the ‘Big Story’ Documentary production.
To co-ordinate and liaise with the service providers on behalf of CGTN.
To oversee the entire pre and post Production process of the documentary till completion to ensure that CGTN policies and guidelines are adhered to.
Should be able to conduct in-depth research at pre-production level on the story ideas and assist in making selections from the submitted list of stories.
Ability to oversee and determine the scripting of the documentary.
Ability to archive and a catalogue programmes and footage for easy future reference
Educational Background And Experience
Bachelors/Diploma in Film and Documentary production
At least 3 years’ experience in Documentary production
Experience in producing documentaries or short feature stories.
Conversant and familiar with the latest editing software.
Have strong skills in reviewing story rough cuts with a keen eye to spot video and audio anomalies.
Well conversant with the international Documentary production industry
Aware of the current Documentary and film market trends
Skills/ Qualifications Required
Abreast with news and current affairs with vast knowledge of African Countries
Knowledge in Multi-camera directing and the entire broadcast chain
Team leading abilities as well as being a team player
Must be completely fluent in written and spoken English
Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
Creative mind and receptive to new ideas
Ability to work under pressure
Good planner and organizer
Possess a keen eye for detail
Must be available to work holidays, shifts that include late evenings and weekends
