Job Description
Job Purpose
Responsible to the Board of Trustees of NETFUND for providing strategic and visionary leadership and has full operational responsibility in the mobilization, management and availing of resources for research, publications, capacity building, and awards in order to mobilize, manage and avail resources for environmental management in Kenya.
Job Description

Provide strategic leadership and direction in the formulation, development implementation and evaluation of the fund’s strategic plan.
Develop, promote and implement a sound legal and regulatory framework to strengthen NETFUND through the establishment of effective policies, strategies, systems, processes and practices.
Oversee the implementation of NETFUND’s strategic plan in close collaboration with appropriate stakeholders.
Develop, implement and evaluate NETFUND’s accountability and performance contract with the Government in line with the approved strategic plan through a logical framework clearly defining performance measures and indicators, resource requirements and key milestones.
Develop strategies for creating a high performing organizational culture based on transparency, integrity, accountability, performance measurement and results in order to ensure that NETFUND is run on sound management principles and practices.
Review NETFUND’s organization structure to ensure that workflow processes and team structures are properly aligned with the strategic direction, assign clear responsibilities to senior management team and oversee the establishment of effective risk management and control systems in order to increase productivity and improve organizational effectiveness.
Ensure effective human resource management policies and systems for hiring, performance assessment, training and development, dispute resolution, pay and benefits, employee welfare programmes, equal opportunity, employee diversity, as well as terms and conditions of service designed to attract, develop, motivate and retain high caliber staff.
Ensure effective financial management policies and systems for monitoring and reporting financial performance to ensure proper management and accountability of funds in line with financial and budgetary policies and procedures of government and other stakeholders. 
Oversee the implementation of resource allocation, efficient program implementation and competent program monitoring and evaluation.
In addition, ensure compliance with laws and regulations as well as fulfilling all statutory and regulatory requirements to facilitate smooth programmer implementation.
Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement and evaluate strategic management plans and budgets aimed at improving organizational effectiveness.
Initiate and participate in organizational performance reviews and business process improvement programmes as well as undertake special investigations aimed at improving organizational effectiveness.
Provide leadership in the inculcation of NETFUND values.
Develop and implement effective lobbying, advocacy and public relations strategy aimed at raising funds, generating goodwill and advancing the mission of NETFUND.
Provide leadership in the development and execution of an effective fundraising and communications strategy aimed at raising funds, generating goodwill and advancing the mission of NETFUND.
Provide regular reports and quality information to the NETFUND Board of Trustees on all matters of significance as well as recommending significant operational changes and major capital expenditures so that they can discharge their responsibilities effectively.

Job Specifications

Post graduate degree in Business Administration or any other related.
Must have 10 years relevant experience with at least five (5) years in senior management.
Wide knowledge in finance and investment.
Membership to a relevant professional body such as CPAK, ICIFA or CFA. 
A clear understanding of National development goals, the Kenya vision 2030 and the role of NETFUND in achieving and contributing to the same. 
Strong leadership skills to foster teamwork, develop and motivate staff, resolve conflicts as well as ability to provide direction, guidance, momentum and vision in order to achieve organizational objectives. 
Strong communication and presentation skills including ability to develop proposals, concept papers, position papers as well as write reports and prepare relevant publications. 
High level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including ability to build alliances and collaborative relationships with sensitivity to diversity.
