Maintenance Engineer – Converting Engineer

Job Description
The successful Candidate will be in charge of Management and Maintenance of existing Mechanical infrastructure within the Converting Division.
S/He will be tasked with a duty to improve the overall process of mechanical design to meet performance goals including verification and validation during development, this means to:
Job Responsibilities

Evaluate and review records of maintenance and condition checks to incorporate efficiency,  preventive and predictive maintenance.
Work hand in hand with process owners , Electrical team and other related teams to develop or improve processes with an aim of providing a better product, increase in production, energy efficiency as well as operator friendly operation.
Plan and carry out Preventive and Scheduled Maintenance of Machinery and Equipment.
Ensure maximum uptime for Machinery and Equipment. (Maximum Availability).
Ensure that records are maintained as required.
Evaluate spare requirement and ensure critical spares are available.
Trouble shoot problems on machines and come up with permanent solutions.
Improve the mechanical process to meet company quality goals.
Closely work and share information with teammate and other teams.
Creation and maintenance of design documentation (mechanical BOM, drawings, instruction etc…).
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the day to day activities of the Converting Mechanical engineering team.

Installation of new equipment, or changing layout of existing ones, which includes to:
Work as Project manager in development teams if appointed for a project.
Support with technical input and feasibility study for PRS and new project opportunities.
Plan and carry out mechanical verification and validation.
Carry out mechanical design or coordinate with sub supplier.
Design the layout floor according to the production requirements.

Assist the Head of Converting Division and support in Production planning and scheduling while supporting other related departments with an objective to meet the Company’s goals.
Help in other KAIZEN Projects, including:

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE): Collection of data and assistance to calculate the OEE factor.
Kaizen as a tool to help in improving current tasks.
Single Minute Exchange of Dye (SMED) Project.
Skill matrix for fitters.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production/ Plant Engineering with at  least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing Plant, with 2 years in the Converting division at a supervisory level

OR

Diploma in Mechanical / Production/ Plant Engineering with at least 10years’ experience in a manufacturing Plant, with 4 years in the Converting division at a supervisory level
