Operations Supervisor

Job description
Our Client is looking for an Operations Supervisor to join their team based in Kenya.
Responsible for the effective integration and execution of all Field Production Operations activities associated with Well Testing, Training and Mentoring all Trainee positions. This position is a key support role to the Field Operations Manager (Field based).
The role contributes to business unit success by ensuring that all Field Operations based activities which support day-to-day exploration and appraisal operations, as well as early development planning, are integrated and managed in an efficient and timely manner.
Key to this role is interfacing between the various roles in the business unit to ensure that supporting activities are executed in compliance with Policies and Guidelines. The FOS also has a responsibility in ongoing production operations issues and site operations where required.
The position works closely with supporting functions to ensure technical and non-technical issues associated with the successful delivery of the exploration and appraisal work programme are appropriately managed with, and reported to, key internal stakeholders. It works cross functionally to support early integrated planning and execution of site based activities.
Objectives

Supervise all Production Operations activities in support of exploration and appraisal, as well as early development planning.
Ensure that operational planning takes account of non-technical above ground risks, trends and events that may negatively affect Tullow Kenya’s ability to execute the agreed (or proposed) work programme.
Provide a support role for new trainees as well as field groups
Ensure that all relevant oil, gas, water injection, gas handling facilities, well testing facilities, water management systems and produced water disposal are installed and operational, taking the experience and lessons learned from other operations and industry best practices into consideration
Participate in emergency response process and confirm systems are in place and effective for the current and future field activities
Via the HSE process, participate and provide input into Control and Command Situations, ensuring the appropriate training and development processes are in place and the frequency of emergency response drills are maintained
When requested, provide Operations assistance and input to the development project planning. This includes assistance with site surveys, layout planning and infrastructure planning for future operations
When requested, Provide Operational support and input into detailed design of current and future developments
Provide assistance of early works for the well testing and operations and development project such as early construction of infrastructure, installation, commissioning and operations of early production systems, etc as the need arises
In consultation with OR&A Engineer, ensure a “Readiness for Start Up Plan” for all necessary approvals, systems and procedures for are developed and appropriate supporting documentation is in place
Provide operability advice for the development designs, and operations planning as required

Skills

Proven track record of planning
Ability to translate complex information into strong, easily delivered messages, including the ability to influence, inspire confidence and build trust at all levels
Proven ability to manage complex matters in a transparent and inclusive fashion
Ability to integrate non technical risks in into business and project planning as required
Build and maintain a network of local stakeholders and informed parties.
Ability to manage conflict situations including conflict resolution and analysis
Practical knowledge and understanding of Petroleum Engineering and Drilling operations would be an advantage
Sound knowledge and experience in Command & Control as well as Emergency Response.
