Job Purpose:
Brief
We are looking for a qualified Analyst, Financial Control who will be responsible for execution of day to day activities in the finance department to ensure alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the organization and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Executes on tasks related to financial issues – interpretation of accounting and tax regulation issues
Monitors third-party payments to ensure that such payments are justified by the value of work successfully completed and are in alignment with the approved budget
Assists in the preparation and implementation of the department’s annual budget. Also assists in the tracking of budgeted against actual performance
Checks expenditure/ transactions to ensure that they are in line with the company’s approved financial authority limits
Plays important role in the preparation of regular financial and management accounts
Assists in the preparation of the company’s financial reports in line with statutory reporting process
Manages relationships with banks, suppliers, service providers and customers ensuring timely response to requests and inquiries
Supports on tax issues in compliance with statutory regulations and ensures prompt payment of tax, insurance premiums and other statutory fees
Manages accounting applications and filing systems and resolves any accounting entry discrepancies
Plays important role in the Preparation of draft financial statements to be audited, ensuring the statements reflect the company’s financial position and comply with statutory and regulatory requirements
Assesses financial adjustments proposed by auditors to be in line with IFRS and accounting standards
Plays a key role in the management of the accounts payable and accounts receivable portfolio
Reviews the reconciliation of ledgers and reports discrepancies.
Academic Qualification(s)
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
Professional Qualifications
CPA or related qualification would be an added advantage
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience
