About the role
City Mall in Nyali, Mombasa is looking to recruit a Senior Facilities Manager who will be responsible for all maintenance work within the mall. The role will focus on maintaining international standards of service, day to day identification and tracking of repair works as well as supervising the maintenance crew for the mall.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily identification, assessment and tracking of the building, grounds and facilities’ repair needs and overseeing the overall physical maintenance and upkeep of the property
Performing various administrative and clerical tasks as well as coordinating work and shift schedules of maintenance crew members
Weekly, monthly and yearly reporting on costs, any emerging issues and incidents pertaining to the facilities and maintenance crew
Maintaining positive and open relations with building tenants and potential vendors
Adhering to all applicable governmental rules and regulations, including licensing and permit requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Building, Civil Engineering, Quantity Survey or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
At least 5 years’ experience with property maintenance and physical plant upkeep requirements, preferably either with a shopping mall, large institution or hotel
Proven ability to manage a large team and great experience with utilities and communications infrastructure
Ability to work independently, prioritize duties, meet multiple deadlines and works as a team
Member and strong project management/ organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through
Ability to maintain the physical security of the facilities, employees, contractors and visitors as well as the physical assets
Ability to lead the team of cleaners, gardeners and contractors to ensure the highest standards of presentation and safety are maintained in the landscape and greenery
Highly computer literate with the ability to handle detailed paperwork in a thorough and complete manner and excellent communication skills
Valid Driver’s license
Procurement and contract management skills
Willing to work long hours
