Field Service Technician

Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out safe and quality service on all Power Technique equipment and products geared towards increased equipment uptime, zero accidents and customer satisfaction.
Mission

Carry out Field Service work covering installation, commissioning, service, repair and audit of compressors, generators and hand held tools including competitor’s equipment.
Providing exceptional service to our customer base by identifying and applying the best solutions.
Provide parts and service proposals based on detailed audit reports
Inspect customer site and machine operating conditions and make recommendations for improvements in operations, and any other matters that will improve our machine operations and bring in additional revenue. 
Supporting colleagues in the back office with technical information through detailed written reports.
Recommend actions to the customer and also to the responsible parts and service sales engineer for further contact to be made.
Advice customers on proper use of Atlas Copco equipment and make recommendations to marketing staff on additional equipment and consumables requirements by customers.
To effectively diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on customer compressed air equipment, Atlas Copco equipment plus competitor’s equipment.
To carry out the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
To train customers and Atlas Copco personnel as required, in the general operations and maintanance of their compressed air and generator equipment.
To identify spare parts for service orders, in the course of daily duties.
To ensure compliance with all Company and Customer Health and Safety requirements in the execution of your duties

Experience requirements

Working experience with compressors, boosters and generators and electrical installations
Good knowledge of Diesel engine operation 
Previous experience in an electrical or mechanical position. 
Excellent computer literacy, with ability to learn new systems.
Flexibility to participate in the call out rota .
Ability to travel throughout the East African region on short notice.
To have the ability to carry out installation work when required

Knowledge

Technical and service knowledge of compressors, generators and their ancillaries

Educational requirements

Diploma in Engineering Electrical or Mechanical Engineering .

Personality requirement

Proven technical skills. The ability to maintain good staff and Customer relationships.
Good planning, organizational and good report writing skills.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Prioritize work load and adjust to unforeseen situations.
