Scope of Work
Develop teacher-training materials to support English Teachers in the iMlango Schools
Provide knowledge and resources on specific English curriculum approaches for the New Kenya Curriculum for Primary Schools
Train iMlango field Staff on effective ways to support Literacy teachers
Conduct continuous schools visits in the 4 counties to support Literacy teachers on instructional design
Contribute to research and development by providing a classroom perspective which are effective in promoting learning outcomes
Education, Experience and Skills set required:
A Bachelor’s’ Degree in Education, English
5+ years of classroom teaching English in primary (or secondary) schools in Kenya
Experience in curriculum planning and delivery, e.g. as an English Head of Department
Strong understanding of literacy pedagogy, evidenced by training and practice and with a particular focus on developing learners’ foundational literacy skills
Experience in implementing ICT to achieve learning gains
Experience in delivering training e.g. as a TSC ToT
Engagement Terms:
This is a 24-month full-time role with renewal possibilities as per the length of the iMlango Project
Domiciled in the Kenya Office in Nairobi and with multiple visits to the counties’ schools continuously
