Job Profile: The Chief Manager Professional Services shall head the Professional Services Division and advise the Chief Executive Officer on matters of adoption and compliance to standards and other rules and regulations issued by ICPAK.
The role is responsible for matters of ICPAK membership registration, Licensing, advisory role on International Accounting and Auditing standards, Compliance to International Accounting and Auditing standards, and to oversee international relations, regional and international linkages in respect of Accounting profession related matters.
The role will also oversee and supervise the Legal Services Function.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction to the professional services division in line with the Institute’s Strategic Plan.
Ensure the update of the Strategic Plan dashboard to project the Institute’s performance on Professional Services Division instantly against Corporate targets
Manage reports to the Chief Executive Officer and the Council of ICPAK regarding various programs in the Professional Division.
In charge of the Division’s workplans, budget and procurement plans.
Develop Job descriptions for all staff working in the Division in liaison with the Senior Manager Human Resource and Administration
Monitoring and evaluation of staff performance (Performance Management function) on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly as appropriate to ensure achievement of set targets within agreed timelines.
To oversee international relations, regional and international linkages on mutual recognition arrangements and partnership and twining arrangements.
Provide leadership in ICPAK’s participation in the development (Input to international standard setting Boards (SSBs) of IASB, IAASB, IAESB, IESBA and IPSASB) by ensuring that ICPAK actively and substantively contributes to relevant proposals, exposure drafts and discussion papers in a timely manner.
Provide leadership in the promotion of implementation of International Financial Reporting, Auditing and Assurance Standards, other accounting standards and Guidelines, Policies, Laws and Regulations pertaining to the Financial Reporting and auditing.
Responsible for the Registration and Licensing of members.
Responsible for the Audit Quality Assurance programme which involves undertaking review of audit firms and ensuring compliance with appropriate quality standards of firm practice.
Responsible for the ethical compliance and disciplinary of members and firms.
Provide leadership in monitoring the regulatory environment in Kenya so as to enable ICPAK identify and contribute to any Laws and Regulations that may impact on financial reporting, management and auditing in Kenya.
Responsible for ensuring the adoption and compliance to standards (Accounting and Auditing) and other rules and regulations issued by ICPAK, the government and other regulatory institutions.
Oversight supervision of all the staff in the functional lines of Professional Services Division.
Ensuring exposure to the Professional Services team through staff development and training programs, Mentoring and Coaching, staff rotations and grooming junior officers to be able to take up higher responsibilities.
Person Profile:
Qualification and Experience:
Master’s degree in Business related field (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Strategy, Human Resource, Operations Management or Management Information Systems).
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related fields.
Degree in law will be an added advantage
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of ICPAK in good standing
Membership to any other relevant professional body will be an added advantage
8 years of experience in a Management position in Finance, Auditing, Accounting standards or related areas and exposure in regulation and compliance
Experience in leading and managing teams.

NOTE: Candidates for both positions will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and provide the documents during the interviews as follows:
Certificate of good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(CID);
Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya revenue Authority (KRA);
Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
Clearance for the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC);
Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
