Musoni is seeking a high caliber professional to join their team as IT Manager.
This role is responsible for creating and implementing Musoni’s technology vision and plan, ensuring it aligns and drives Musoni’s business strategy and helps supports its key lines of business. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing and managing the IT Department in order to ensure the development and implementation of cost-effective systems and efficient computer operations to meet current and future decision making requirements. The IT Manager will provide company-wide direction in areas of policy and planning for data processing and related functions (communication, office systems, connectivity, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the digital and technology strategic and operating plan to support and enhance Musoni’s strategic ambitions and business requirements, focusing resources so that cost effectiveness and optimum service experiences are achieved.
Foster innovation, prioritising IT initiatives, and co-ordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems.
Ensure that the technical integration and developments are aligned with the business requirements and results in a seamless customer digital/mobile interface and user friendly digital/mobile operations. Works closely with the MNOs and other technology partners to identify and rectify issues and further improvements
Leverage and expand alternative channels for Musoni to deliver digital financial services at scale including new services, tools, and strategies that improve our profitability and deepen their impact
Management of performance for the IT digital Channels support team comprising of system admins and operators maintaining the banks digital channels systems and responsible for a 24/7-hour support.
Interface with other industry leading organisations and individuals in order to maintain state-of the-art knowledge in emerging digital technologies and to enhance Musoni’s image as a first-class Microfinance utilising the latest thinking in all technology fields appropriate to Musoni
Establish and set short and long-range objectives for the digital strategy for Musoni and gains buy-in of the various stakeholders and establishing criteria for monitoring progress and measuring success.
Define and execute a strategy for the core banking systems/platforms/networks that is cost effective, reduce complexity and improves speed to market of new product delivery.
Communicate Musoni’s technology strategy to management, staff, partners and stakeholders as and when appropriate.
Plan and control departmental staffing, development, organization, hardware acquisitions, and facilities to ensure that they are consistent with the business plan of the company.
Establish IS policies, standards, practices and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard information resources.
Ensure digital and IT risk management and governance is aligned with enterprise needs, risk appetite and, as appropriate, industry best practice.
Oversee Musoni’s vendor management to ensure all third party vendors and service providers are providing reliable and flexible solutions and cost controls that are consistent with strategic plans and business objectives.

Does this sound like you?

A relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, or computer sciences or substantial information technology experience in a commercial environment
5-7 years of working successfully at a senior level in finance, telecom or fintech sector including at least 3 years’ experience in support of Mobile, Internet and agency banking technologies
Knowledge of IT Banking Systems Implementation & Capabilities
Knowledge of Database management systems, solutions and administration
Knowledge of networking technologies and solutions will be an added advantage
Well versed in leading edge technology including but not limited to Global API Platform, Cloud Solutions, Mobile, Identity and Access Management, Artificial and Emotional Intelligence
Good technical understanding of mobile money solution
