Deputy Operations Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide managerial and administrative support to the Operations Manager, with a key responsibility in handling day-to-day trip issues and on-the-ground trip organisation, for the successful and profitable running of group trips and other specified travel products.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Extensive travel experience in Eastern and Southern Africa and a passion for travel
Travel industry work experience, particularly as a Group Leader
Management, coaching / training experience desirable
Excellent communication (verbal & written) in English. Knowledge of Swahili will be an added advantage.
A workable knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software
Reliable and responsible, with outstanding organisational and customer service skills
At least a diploma in Tour Operations from a recognized college

Flexible and adaptable to handle a multitude of tasks that may be on the go at the one time
A capacity to take responsibility and make decisions independently
The ability to oversee the resolution of emergency situations that may occur
A sense of humour and a smile!
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
To participate in regular office meetings
Be on call via mobile phone out of office hours
Attend Operations functions outside office hours
