Accounting Manager

Job description
The Accounting Manager will provide overall leadership and oversight for the Accounting Function at L’Oreal East Africa. The successful candidate will be in charge of planning, forecasting, statutory compliance, tax accounting, reporting, development and management of sound financial processes and procedures.
Duties And Responsibilities
Carry out consolidation reporting for the Group: quarterly and annual balance sheets, flow reports, net income trends, etc.
Supervise and check the release of end-of-year local accounts, tax and legal statements, etc.
Check that the Group’s accounting procedures and principles are correctly applied in close cooperation with the Controlling department.
Guarantee the reliability of accounting and tax information by implementing appropriate procedures, checks and performance indicators. Familiarize with and monitor accounting and tax regulations.
Propose and implement all initiatives that aim to improve productivity in the process of providing accounting information at both the financial information system level and the information flow level.
Recruit, manage and lead teams, ensure the smooth running of succession plans, and maintain a high level of technical ability in the team.
Be the key point of contact in relation to treasury matters and the associated software and oversee the correct application of the Financial Charter within the company.
Forecast and plan the entity’s cash flow and assist the Country CFO with decisions concerning currency risk
Implement and lead the Treasury’s projects (implementation of information systems, tenders, payment methods, etc.).
To draw up treasury forecasts as accurate as possible and carry out rapid reconciliation by using IT procedures and tools (cash management software, electronic transfer of files to banks etc).
Monitor bank balances on a daily basis on the processing date, per currency and per bank and, if the need arises, reduce current account bank balances to zero on a daily basis in order to facilitate cash pooling.
Produce various accounting reports and financial statements for the entity within the deadlines set by the Group and the various legal bodies.
Qualifications
Business Degree
Certified Public Accountant (CPA – K)
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and any other Accounting packages
5 Years’ Experience in Accounting
Strong understanding of the Kenyan tax laws
Experience in Managerial Roles
Legally Eligible to Work in Kenya
