Pilot Project Manager

Detailed Responsibilities:
Engineering Competency:
Have a firm grasp on the technical aspects of developing a project, from designing the execution plan to implementation
Understand and appreciate health and safety standards, quality assurance and statutory compliance requirements
Have the technical knowledge needed to have a hands-on involvement in all aspects of the project to support technical teams e.g. equipment installation, commissioning, contractor management and spotting technical skill gaps
Project Management:
Understand & manage the logistics that go into planning and setting up a new site e.g. tools needed, days needed on site, maintenance after installation, etc
Efficiently manage installation sites from setup, troubleshooting machine failures and managing a clean exit from the site
Lead a team of technicians and contractors in executing an installation project, including performance management. Build sustainable maintenance and service systems for the company going forward
Maintain detailed documentation/reporting of project activities to ensure any changes, insights or best practices learned locally are communicated to the USA team. Provide input on product manufacturing by documenting and relaying customer experience and technical issues feedback
Procurement and budget management:
Be the liaison between local vendors and the USA team for any additional materials or components needed
Commission newly imported machinery including Inspecting and testing components before installation
Ensure projects are run within the allocated budget & timeline
Does this sound like you?
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred
6 – 12 years’ experience, preferably involving construction or site management
Able to travel outside Nairobi up to 50% of the time
Keen understanding of and respect for Health and Safety protocol
Resourceful with an analytical mindset
Efficient communicator across different audiences
