Job Description:
The tasks of a receptionist in Longview suites will include:
Receiving and welcoming and checking in guests.
Checking out guests.
Issuing of keys to guests.
Receiving the payments for the guests.
Operating the telephone for the hotel.
Operating the internal communication system.
Carrying out any other relevant duties assigned by the Head of Front Office and House.
Completing procedures when guests arrive and leave
Preparing bills and taking payment
Taking and passing on messages to guests
Dealing with special requests from guests (like booking theatre tickets or storing valuable items)
answering questions
dealing with complaints or problems
Skills required
You’ll need:
administration and customer service skills
IT skills to work with computerised booking and payment systems
excellent written and spoken communication skills
a friendly and professional telephone manner
patience and tact
the ability to stay calm under pressure and look after several things at once
It may also be useful if you can speak a foreign language.
Qualification: Diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management or equivalent.
One (3) years’ experience Front Office hotel business.
Computer Literate.
Knowledge of a computerized hotel management system will be added advantage.
