Supply Chain Manager Job Roles & Responsibilities
Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
Ensure a supply / procurement service which meets or betters the parameters set out by requestors
Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, engineering, and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers.
Assess new suppliers and effect on-going assessment and adjustment of current supplier baseinclusive of terms and conditions
Check and control outgoing procurement purchase orders for comprehensive correctness
Authorisation of Purchase Orders and Amendments within the scope of authority value allocated to you
Checking and assessing that actual procured cost of projects are within the allowable allocated. Also to check that allowable allocated are correctly in line with original pricing submitted to Project Planning
Submission of Project tender pricing and priced BOM’s as required
Conduct quarterly top supplier terms and conditions reviews and update supplier listing as indicated by reviews
Places, processes, and follows up on orders to expedite and ensure timely delivery to meet project schedules.
Be updated on the new products and suppliers in the market and leverage their utilisation for organisational benefit.
Requirements for the Supply Chain Manager Job
Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Computer Science / IT Related field.
5 Years Supply Chain Management Experience at a management level in the Telecommunication/Engineering Environment
Knowledge of RFP and relevant software like SAP-SRM will be an added advantage.
