Data Migrition – Technical Analyst

Job description
To work within the Data migration workstream of the BTP/ERP project, and provide technical assistance in capturing, cleansing, and converting data from legacy systems into the new ERP.
Key Accountabilities:
To provide the technical capabilities to deliver new data stores for capturing legacy data for cleansing and maintaining the data prior to loading to the new erp system
To develop cleansing algorithms to aid in the cleansing process
To develop conversion algorithms, checks/balances and control data, to aid in the conversion process to the new erp system.
To develop mini applications to allow data to be maintained prior to loading cleansed data into the new ERP system
Write and maintain programming documentations, document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
Develop training guides/cheat sheets to aid the end user to utilise the data migration tools.
Has the ability to create, implement and monitor database maintenance procedures
Communicating regularly with internal technical, applications, and operational staff, to ensure the database integrity and security is maintained.
To provide as necessary any training to the end user to help then use the tools developed for data capture and cleansing.
To have the technical capability
To troubleshoot SQL Server service outages.
To configure SQL Server monitoring utilities, performance monitoring and tuning of Database servers
To check performance issues and determine the most effective way to address.
Of SQL database structures, programming and debugging
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Mandatory:
SQL databases/programming (.Net)
In depth knowledge of MS SQL to the latest version.
Deploy database change(s) through scripts.
Knowledge of server administration
Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed
Experience with Microsoft products, MSCE/MCSA/MTA entry level
Strong troubleshooting skills and demonstrated abilities to diagnose and analyze technical issues.
ITIL / ISO 20000 processes
Ideally to have knowledge in one or more of the following fields:-
Monitoring tools
Configuration management tools
Microsoft Server administration
Barcode technology
