Key responsibilities
Ensure that agreed targets are delivered in accordance with regional and national targets
Manage the Sales Representative Team of 8 direct reports and 3 indirect reports by maintaining control of activities and costs in the region within the terms of company policies
Provide the Sales Representatives with the necessary supportfor learning and growth and alignment with Merck values
Set and manage the Sales and Expense budget for the specific region / area and ensure ROI are always assessed
Liaise and build relationships with key opinion leaders in conjunction with the relevant sales representative
Work internally with Marketing, Regulatory and Finance
To identify business opportunities in line with the product range
To coach and develop Field force through day to day visits and guidance
Highly sales orientated with the determination to succeed
Ability to work with others and be an integral part of a team
Driven and enthusiastic personality
Ability to work and negotiate with Distributors, wholesalers, Retail Groups, and any other Key customers.
Develop excellent customer relationships.
Have an understanding of the East Africa Health care industry.
Ability to plan and implement strategies for customers and align to the Consumer marketing strategies.
Ability to collaborate with external and internal customers in a way that generates trust, confidence and co-operation.
Experience in negotiations with key stakeholders.
Manage budgets per customer
You will possess
A background in Pharmaceutical or Consumer Health sales
Previous experience ofleading remote sales teams
Strong leadership ability
A focus on driving a performance culture
Worked in a complex multinationalorganisation
Existing work rights in Kenya
Marketing, Brand or Product Management experience
Desirable to have experience of Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda
