Import-Export Officer Job Responsibilities:
Preparation and processing of Customs documents, shipping documents for import/export and transit cargo;
Liaising with clearing agents and suppliers on customs cargo clearance/documentation matters;
Maintain a close relationship with stakeholders/local authorities to ensure that customs clearance is completed efficiently and ensure that new import/export regulations are well anticipated;
Ensure correct classification and declaration of all Dangerous goods being shipped out of Logistics Support Centre(LSC) in accordance with DGR regulations;
Expediting/route follow up of transit documents to ensure quick discharge of transit bond once goods exit the country;
Giving greenlight instructions to the field and arranging for tax exemption application,IDF KEBS certificates;
Establish weekly progress reports on status of shipments and distribute them according to requirements;
Requirements for the Import-Export Officer Job
Holder of a Degree in Logistics or its equivalent from a recognized university;
East African Customs Freight Forwarding practicing certificate (KRATI);
KRA Simba Trade X training;
Minimum 5 years work experience in a similar field;
Advanced Computer Skills;
Excellent command of English;
Valid driving license;
High sense of integrity;
Ability to work independently, take initiative and make decisions;
High degree of flexibility
Good negotiation and communications skills;
Good interpersonal skills and able to work in a team;
