What you can expect
The successful candidate will be expected to market and sell the company’s products to optimise market
share and profit margins within the Underground Construction and Mining sector in Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia
and Tanzania. Key responsibilities will include :
Managing the process of establishing a sustainable customer base, account management, product supply, technical suport and customer relations in conjuction with the relevant functional departments.
Coordinate the import and supply of Underground Construction products to the market.
Proactively aid in the development of the designated Construction Chemical market segment in the region.
Manage existing customer relationships through continual engagement with existing and new customers in the region.
Provide ongoing customer technical support to improve customer’s knowledge.
Active involvement with product development on and off sites.
Managing customer portfolio- (process of account activation, credit facilities and transport terms with contractors).
Establish appropriate sales calls cycles, business reviews and reports, and technology updates.
Ensure on-going market intelligence and active representation of BASF’s interests within the market.
What we expect
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Mining, Civil Engineering or Geology.
At least five years’ relevant experience in a similar environment, with solid experience in Mining and / or Tunnelling consulting.
Good people and excellent communication skills.
Strong technical orientation.
This role will involve travel, and candidates must be willing and able to travel locally and internationally
