Country Operations Manager

Key responsibilities
Manage and deliver multiple work streams for projects in the financial services arena to agreed scope, timings, budget and quality
Work with internal teams to help define project scope, resource requirements and cost estimates for projects
At the start of a project, analyse the areas that could potentially throw the delivery off track, log risks, create a mitigation plan and actively mitigate against them
Ensure that internal and external sign-offs are obtained on all key project deliverables, and that you have an audit trail to protect yourself if things go wrong
Be the hub of communication for the project – in regular contact with internal and external stakeholders engaged in delivering our products
Be on top of projects and know their status (key milestones, budgets, resourcing etc.)
Assess the time and financial impact of changes and communicate to stakeholders
Be firm but fair in judgement: push back when scope creeps or suggested budgets are not realistic whilst understanding the constraints of the stakeholders
Be responsible for ensuring that relevant clients and account team members are kept up to date on project developments: changes in timings, costs and any issues arising.
Skills and competencies
Essential
Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance/Economics/Accounting or similar
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in financial services – mobile money focused ideally
Experience managing large teams
Previous high level and sophisticated relationship management experience
Experience negotiating with major counter-parties to achieve and facilitate a given strategy
Ability to work in a fast paced ever changing environment
Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
Exceptional communicator, with effective listening skills, intelligent and articulate with strong written and verbal skills
Confident personality with strong presentation ability
Ability to work to tight deadlines, multi-task, prioritise and handle a diverse workload
Decisive, detail orientated, enthusiastic, problem solver
Desirable
Prior experience with mobile financial services, and mobile money integrations specifically
