What You’ll Make Happen:
Leadership and management of the Finance team, across the Kenya and Tanzania offices
Responsibility for all consolidated financials, tax compliance, internal business systems and controls, grant reporting, business intelligence and analytics, budgeting, and team development
Vision for and ability to implement and manage financial and business systems, which cut across the Finance, Executional, Grid Operations, Inventory and other teams – with a focus on streamlined, efficient operations and processes, strong business controls and clear business intelligence
Systems include interfacing with other teams within NetSuite on inventory and equipment purchased/used; tagging of expenses within NetSuite for projects, grants, business unit, etc; proper invoicing, expense and receipt systems; bank reconciliations; fixed asset capitalization; project time and cost tracking
Oversight of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close to GAAP/IFRS standards, and of audits across all entities
Full tax compliance across corporate income, VAT, payroll, withholding and other taxes
Relationship management for existing and future grants and oversight of grant and M&E reporting
Implementation and management of transfer pricing policy and intercompany processes
Leading of internal budgeting and forecasting across teams and countries, and tracking and oversight of budget
Liaising with and integrating Inventory tracking systems and processes with financial management and reporting
Development and professional growth in the personnel you lead

You Already Have:
10+ years work experience in corporate finance and accounting
Masters in Finance, MBA, or comparable professional experience strongly preferred
Work experience in Tanzania and Kenya
Knowledge of Tanzania and Kenya tax code
Experience and proven ability to lead and manage teams
Ability to build financial forecasts and develop and execute operational plans
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
Experience in the energy, clean tech or utility sectors
Highly organized and detail oriented
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Practiced flexibility to lend a hand wherever needed
Fluent in both English and Swahili preferred
