Key Responsibilities
• Develop and support Jumo’s platform• Diagnose and correct problems with production services• Participate in Jumo’s agile project planning process• Make Jumo a destination for world class engineering talent
Qualifications:• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related field• Previous exposure in the financial industry. (But not essential)
Experience:• 2+ years of experience designing, developing and testing software services• 2+ years of experience with Ruby, Python, Java or Scala• Experience with Linux or MacOS• Experience with Linux or MacOS is highly desirable• Experience integrating real-time machine learning/AI/decision optimization in a big-data (HDFS+Map-Reduce) environment is desirable• Experience working in Amazon Web Service environments (EC2, Elastic Beanstalk) is desirable
Personal Aptitude & Skills:• Self starter• Fast learner• Excellent communications skills• Sense of humor• Ability to travel for meetings and training to countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia and Ghana
