Job description
This position oversees the business operations of our farm by providing leadership and organization during the production process. From supporting hatchery and on-water logistics to creating schedules and operating procedures, it is their responsibility to ensure that the production and distribution of fish is done in an efficient manner to ensure scale of the operation and maximum survival of fish. The position will may have a number of duties, including selecting and supervising workers, planning a budget, organizing routine maintenance, keeping records and communicating with potential product buyers.
Experience in production operations in a medium or large organization; agricultural experience a plus, but not mandatory; seeking 10+ years in a relevant role
Ability to multi-task and run large number of operations in parallel
Able to think ahead and plan ahead, including ordering of goods, construction materials, consumables, and labor requirements
Must be highly flexible to suit the needs of a small start-up
Comfortable with modern web apps, can quickly learn and use them to his/her strength
Desire to learn and progress within the organization
Incredibly diligent and able to follow projects through to completion
Dedicated to excellence and detail-oriented execution
Must be willing and able to relocate to Homa Bay, in the area around Sindo town (Suba sub county), Kenya
