Qualifications for the Investment Assistant Internship
Bachelor’s Degree, First Class or Upper Second (achieved or expected)
Minimum of a B+ in KCSE
Professional qualifications in finance/investments e.g. CFA or be a registered student and actively pursuing the CFA, CPA or CAIA qualifications
Professional attitude
Ability to work in a team
Ready to take on challenges
Demonstrated leadership capability
Innovative and solution oriented individuals
Investment Assistant Internship Duties
Conducting fundamental company & investment opportunity research and analysis in real estate,
Real estate deal structuring and capital budgeting,
Real estate investment analysis tools, such as NPV’s, IRR’s and all metrics to capture return on investment,
Connecting real estate market research to real estate investment and guiding an investment through the development process,
Learning of investment analysis in private equity, structured products, equities & fixed income,
Financial modelling and data analysis,
Analyzing historical and projected financial statements & investment data,
Preparing written reports and verbal presentations,
Conducting country, industry and capital markets research,
Participating in the evaluation, formulation and implementation of investment strategies,
Contributing in investment meetings and review sessions.
