Role Background
As a Business Development Consultant, your key objective will be to take responsibility for the capture of new business by establishing new relationships as well as managing the existing relationships. Additionally your core responsibilities will include:
Identify and qualify opportunities
Meet your Sales Targets
Prepare and deliver strategic presentations to clients.
Build profitable client relationships.
Plan, carryout and support local marketing activities
Consultative sales process is significantly different from a product company and is more focussed around ‘consultative solutions sales’.
The role requires a broad range of skills and requires a breadth of knowledge and passion for providing workable solutions for clients.
Responsibilities of the Business Development Job
To work closely with senior resources in the organisation to identify, establish business opportunities and convert prospects into sales.
To meet sales targets
To develop and implement sales strategies, secure new business opportunities and establish solutions from our portfolio.
Develop existing clientele through up-selling and cross selling of solutions
To manage strategic relationship with clients & key partners.
Continuous marketing research that help understand prospects and target markets; taking the market research to next level by creating a knowledge database used in sales.
Business Development Job Essentials
Excellent communication skills both in written and oral.
This role requires excellent sales and persuasive skills. Proven/demonstrable sales experience with a strong
Direct face to face sales experience, Listening skills, Passion for results.
Experience of selling Content & Knowledge Management solutions is highly desirable.
Ability to understand a business scenario quickly and suggest the solutions around it.
Pre-Sales activities such as customer qualification, top level discussion with customers to establish clearly their business needs and frustration, Proposal writing, Resolving any queries around the proposal from the customer, Act as a prime interface with the customer during the sales process, Act as the “owner” of the customer until the sales has matured and Conduct presentations and quality conversations to further the agenda and acquire customer interest.
Proven capability in consultative selling with demonstrated achievements.
A constant hunger for learning new events, trends, and Industry requirements.
You should be a graduate, with proven credentials.
At least 3 years of relevant and active direct customer sales experience in consultative selling.
Proven track record and good references.
