Position Summary
S/he will be responsible for supporting the M&E output area by developing, implementing, and monitoring the data use strategy. S/he will support the implementation and monitoring the Data Demand and Use (DDU) strategy and guiding the DDU assessments and interventions. S/he will ensure DDU support of County Health Management Teams (CHMTs) and M&E Technical Working Groups (TWGs), and strengthen/develop mechanisms for county accountability.
The Data Use Coordinator will report to Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Advisor.
Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead in the development of monthly and quarterly plans for Routine Data Quality Audits (RDQAs) and other data quality initiatives.
Work with the Capacity Building Advisor to oversee/conduct training on DDU, EMR, MoH tools, analytics, computer basics and M&E.
Track EMR data quality issues from the facilities and partners, plan and provide relevant responses/solutions.
Increase capacity of the facility staff, CHMTs for the identification of data needs and the collection, analysis and communication of appropriate information.
Assist facilities to maintain and use quality EMR data.
Assist in writing project reports (e.g. CDC quarterly reports, TWG reports and for any other agencies).
Assist M&E Advisor in conjunction with the team in developing abstracts on the project activities.
Requirements
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Software skills necessary to conduct data analysis, such as STATA, SPSS, Tableau or their equivalent.
Knowledge and experience of data informed decision making.
Ability to communicate technical data to non-technical audiences.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Excellent inter-personal skill.
Ability to work in a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with the use of databases.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors? degree in information systems, computer science, public health, or related field. A masters? degree will be an added advantage
At least 3 years? experience in EMR implementation with special emphasis on support of MoH standard reporting tools.
Demonstrable experience working with the various Kenyan health information systems (e.g. DHIS2, CPIMS, EMRs, COPBAR, etc.)
Demonstrated experience in working on donor-funded projects, especially for the US government.
