You will be solely in charge of Kidogo’s marketing and promotion activities both locally in the communities we work in, and nationally. You’ll be situated within Kidogo’s operations team, reporting to the head of the department, while working closely with Kidogo’s hub and spokes managers, as well as head teachers and field staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing:

Develop Kidogo’s overall marketing strategy
Develop promotional/marketing content to increase Kidogo’s brand awareness in the informal settlements in order to increase enrollment and attract new daycares
Identify and develop new market opportunities for Kidogo in the informal settlements

Community Engagement:

Carry out customer surveys to understand demand and manage brand positioning o Lead the design of parent newsletters and other community engagement tools o
Conduct market research and analysis to better understand target customers, evaluate trends and brand awareness

Communications / Promotion:

Organize and oversee all communication and promotional activities, campaigns (social media, newspaper etc.), exhibitions and promotional events
Liaise with media, printers, graphic designers and publishers as required and manage the production of marketing materials such as leaflets, flyers, posters and newsletters,
Assist in reporting and documentation for funders, investors and other stakeholders o Assist in event management, where required

EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND:
You must have:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or equivalent
3+ years of professional experience in marketing or related field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Be comfortable designing basic brochures, flyers, posters etc.
Comfort with social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
English and Swahili fluency
Willingness to commit a minimum of 2 years

It would be great if you had:

Previous exposure / experience in urban informal settlements or lower income communities
Experience working in a start-up environment, including human-centered design thinking
