Renewable Development Manager

Job description
They are currently seeking a Development Manager to join their growing business in Nairobi, Kenya, to assist in the development strategy in existing and new markets across Africa.
Key responsibilities

Define, propose and execute the development strategy
Provide leadership and direction on all aspects of project development
Establish development budgets for specific projects and lead project feasibilities
Develop, maintain and manage constructive relationship with stakeholders
Lead project development activities under guidance of Investment Manager and with support from Project Manager
Evaluate project/investment opportunities from an investment point of view including site visits, estimation of cost, constructability, generation potential, stakeholder relationship, sector development, evacuation
Participating in, securing and negotiating relevant commercial terms including partnership agreements, PPAs, finance agreements

Required Experience

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Finance or Law
MBA preferred
8 – 10 years’ experience working in a Development capacity in the Renewable energy or infrastructure
Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills are required
Keen interest in renewable energy and investment.
Excellent written English and ability to write documents to a publishable standard
Additional language skills would be an advantage (in particular French or Portuguese)
Enthusiasm and commitment to working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Highly analytical, organised and pragmatic professional with attention to details.
Willingness to travel and visit project sites across Africa.
