Sales Manager Declaration officer

To carry out direct sales management to help increase sales of Union Logistics products and services in accordance with agreed business plans.
Responsibilities
Sales

Work towards retaining existing customers and winning incremental revenue from them.
Help draw up proposals, agreements and other documentation for customers in liaison with the operation’s team.
Preparing quotations for:

Air, sea, road, imports and exports worldwide.
Local and international projects and tenders.
Conducting regular sales visits to customers; producing and sharing follow up reports.

Assist in preparing customer profiles; folders for quotations submitted; and files for follow up in order to maintain an up to date database.
Assist in preparing monthly sales reports to the Accounts Department for the purpose of determining market share and profitability, related to profit sharing agreed with global partners as per agreements.
Collaborating with internal departments to provide excellent customer service at all times.
Running regular customer feedback surveys, and sharing the results to drive service improvements.
Maintaining a proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving for customers.
Maintaining a close liaison with the Operations Department to support them in maintaining a close relationship with customers.
Collaborating with the Operations Department to develop right solutions for customers; and guide shippers on any special shipments that involve high risks, lengthy documentation and special customs procedures.

Sales Management

Sourcing for rates from partners and in liaison with Business Development Manager and/or Sales Manager preparing winning offers to clients.
Maintaining the quotation log and giving monthly reports with analysis of results.
Following up on each and every quote submitted and filling the feedback.
Assisting in preparing new collateral materials to support business development efforts.
Assisting in preparing and submit all tenders quotes and thereupon make effective follow ups till tender is converted into actual profitable business.
Assisting in maintaining ISO certification and updating when required together with the QMR.
Assisting in liaising effectively with ULL and Group Associates in the Region to develop mutual business opportunities. Achieving real growth on all products and services offered by ULL in East Africa, South Sudan, Rwanda and Burundi.
Assisting in creating effective SOPs between ULL and its global network partner Rohlig with a view to developing a seamless partnership and increasing mutual business.

Qualifications

A minimum 3 years experience in the Logistics sector
Holding recognised qualifications in Freight Forwarding.
