Title: Accounting Intern
Hours: 20 hours per week (schedule flexible during 9 am-5 pm hours)
Duration: 3-12 months
Location: Upper Hill, Nairobi
Compensation: Stipend of 5000 KES per month; travel and airtime reimbursed
Reports to: Accountant

Internship Responsibilities:
Post supplier bills, receipts and customer invoices into the QuickBooks software.
Record payments from clients and post supplier cheque payments.
Record bank deposits and payments into the QuickBooks software.
Post manager’s petty cash expenses into the QuickBooks software after they have been reconciled and approved.
File receipts and supplier invoices.
Prepare payment vouchers for approval to ensure timely payment.
Prepare customer invoices and receipts.
Record input VAT expenses monthly.
Update and maintain records of employee statutory details.
Qualifications for the Internship:
University undergraduate or recent graduate seeking professional work experience.
Must have passed Certified Public Accountants (CPA) PART II Examination.
Highly experienced in Microsoft Word & Excel.
Fast typist who pays attention to and corrects errors.
Experience in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) preferred.
High level of efficiency, accuracy and responsibility.
Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.
Able to work independently on tasks assigned with minimal supervision.
Fluent in English & Kiswahili.
