Role Responsibility
Reporting to the Editor, Somali Service, your role is to provide all aspects of news output including the production and presentation of live and recorded content, reporting, presenting, script-writing, packaging, translating, and compiling radio Bulletins. You will use your journalistic skills and experience to present on news, politics, culture and social issues relevant to a Somali audience. You will also be responsible for managing social media platforms to promote our content and engage with the audience.
Shift work including weekends and public holidays is required.
Are you the right candidate?
The successful candidate will be a fluent Somali and English speaker, with demonstrable experience in a journalistic role. Knowledge of global, African and Somali news and current affairs is essential. You will have an excellent broadcasting voice and first class reporting skills. An understanding of what works on radio and digital platforms is important.

Contract: fixed term for 12 months
