Marketing Manager

Job description
The Position:
Reporting to the Country Manager, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans for the business unit in order to attract new customers and retain existing ones. The incumbent will also be responsible for growing the Company’s brand and market share in the region as well as oversee implementation of marketing activities to ensure an overall winning position.
Primary Responsibilities:

Builds and sustains client relationships to boost sales and get new business opportunities;
Monitors and analyses Business Unit sales volumes, market share trends and competitor activity;
Oversees achievement of Business Unit volumetric objective and ensures resources are allocated to achieve objectives;
Implements Business Unit marketing strategies in line with the Group wide strategy;
Ensures the development of sound brand communications, messaging and monitoring of brand costs and profitability in the business unit.
Ensures speedy customer complaints handling, feedback and follow up;
Analyses revenue and expenditure trends for planning purposes;
Executes promotional initiatives to profitably within budgeted parameters in the business unit;
Undertakes competitor benchmarking and come up with appropriate interventions;
Carries out market research within the business unit and share appropriate data with management for timely decision making;
Ensures development and monitoring of individual sales targets and promotional activities; and
Responsible for staff development, motivation and succession planning in the marketing department.

The ideal candidate should:

Have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication or any other related field;
Have a Master’s degree in Marketing, an MBA or other related discipline;
Working towards a CIM or other recognized qualification
Have at least 7 years Marketing Experience in OMCs or FMCG sectors; and
Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
