Job Summary
The Kenya Relief Academy soccer head coach is responsible for developing the skills of primary school student athletes to their full potential, as well as being able to mentor students in their character and spiritual development
Personal characteristics that reflect:
A strong, clear Christian testimony with a mature, Godly spirit, including being an active member of a Bible-based local churchA daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school that includes respect, fairness and unity
The ideal candidate shall possess the following:
Must be registered with Teachers Service Commission (TSC)
A thorough knowledge of the rules, strategies and techniques of soccer
Ability to create a learning and encouraging team environment that inspires and allows all players to improve
Ability to mentor young people and interact in a positive manner with parents
At least 2 years’ experience coaching a soccer team
Playing experience on a high school/College team
Ability to coach and develop players from Class 5 – Class 8
Ability to develop and lead Bible study and devotion before each practice
Ability to communicate clearly in both Kiswahili and English
A Certificate of Good Conduct.
A certificate in coaching accredited by a football body.
Teachers’ certificate (P1) /Diploma will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities:
Teaches athletes to perform sound, safe fundamental techniques of soccer to be used in regular competition
Leads a daily devotion before each practice that promotes honesty, integrity, humility, loyalty, unity, teamwork and encourages total character development of athletes
Oversees field conditions and maintenance of the playing field
Completes and keeps inventory of equipment, uniforms, etc in store properly
Completes all assigned duties as given by the Head Master
