We are seeking a pre/primary school teacher for Gede Forest School.
Role and person specification:
We are looking for the first pre/primary school teacher to join Gede Forest School. The successful candidate will provide play and learning opportunities to the first cohort of up to 9 children, for the first 6 months. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved in curriculum development for the school, in preparation for when it expands in September 2025.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and a natural leader, has a passion for nature and is enthusiastic about outdoor teaching and play.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Planning, preparing and delivering lessons and play sessions on different topics and themes
Assessing and providing feedback on child progress
Responsible for welfare of the children, and maintaining a safe and engaging environment
Responsible for keeping the teaching area and equipment tidy
Line management of teaching assistants and helpers
Qualifications
Bachelor of Education Degree, Diploma in Education, or Diploma in Primary Education
Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration number
At least 3 year’s experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and spoken English
IT, record keeping and report writing skills
Good knowledge of preschool curriculum
Open, honest and trustworthy
Up to date first aid qualification
