Trade Finance Officer

Description

The Trade Finance Officer will be responsible for managing financial transactions involved in international trade. They handle documentation, monitor risks, and ensure compliance with laws. Their role is crucial in facilitating smooth and successful global business deals.

Duties & Responsibilities

Meet individual sales target each month to ensure continuity of business and personal growth.
Identify opportunities, produce leads and book appointments with the emphasis on high quality leads
Achieve set sales performance targets in trade finance, and other financing products.
Drive sustainable growth through the delivery of innovative and customized Trade Finance solutions and products to meet identified customer needs.
Ensure all income is collected, all excise duty is charged.
Carry out client appraisal/ due diligence including account appraisal, Award verification if need be.
Maintain records of all guarantees issued internally.
Prepare daily, weekly, monthly report of all guarantees issued.
Relationship Management

Skills & Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking business administration, Economics or a related field.
3- 5 years of experience as a trade finance officer
Strong knowledge of trade finance products and instruments.
Understanding of international trade laws and regulations.
Financial analysis and risk assessment capabilities.
Experience with trade finance software and digital platforms.
Attention to detail – Ensuring accuracy in trade documentation and compliance.
Analytical thinking – Assessing risks and structuring trade finance solutions.
Strong communication skills – Liaising with clients, banks, and regulatory bodies.
Problem-solving abilities – Handling transaction discrepancies and customer issues.
Teamwork and collaboration – Working with internal teams and external stakeholders.
