Essential Job Duties
Lead the implementation of HR Global Priorities and annual HR plans across the region.
Ensure compliance with organizational HR minimum standards and best practices in all country offices and the HEARO office.
Serve as a strategic HR advisor to the Regional Director, Senior Management, and country-level HR teams on key organizational and management issues.
Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to HROD and country leaders.
Oversee regional HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, career development, staff retention, wellbeing, learning and development, compensation, and benefits, in close collaboration with the Director, People & Strategy.
Offer guidance on country office structures, workforce planning, and realignment processes.
Support and advise country offices on HR investigations.
Ensure the Safeguarding policy is well understood and effectively implemented across all country offices and HEARO.
Promote staff wellbeing by fostering best HR practices in all Country Offices.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director, People & Strategy.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Regional HR Director is directly responsible for managing and leading the HEARO HR Team
The Regional HR Director has auxiliary responsibility in terms of broad strategic advisory, guidance and function oversight of the country HR teams.

Fiscal Responsibility
Directly responsible for monitoring and implementing the HR activities of the HEARO budget.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods and to concentrate on work, including typing, and turn out heavy volumes of work accurately, within short time frames under stressful situations in the context of a moderately noisy office with many interruptions. You must be able to proofread your own work accurately so that only minor corrections are needed on an infrequent basis.

Working Conditions, Travel and Environment
The duties of the job require regular job attendance of at least five days per week. Employees must be available to work outside normal office hours, or at the weekends, as required by contact with the country offices, country office security or other obligations.
The duties of the job require up to 60% travel to country offices, New York as well as to other Action Against Hunger HQs. While visiting the field, the employee may be exposed to precarious settings under high security risks and/or very basic living conditions and outside weather conditions, as well as to infectious diseases
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in HR, business or related field (master’s degree preferred)
Specialized training in adult learning, employment law, compensation & benefits, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations.
Professional HR certification from a reputable body such as IHRM, SHRM, CIPD or HRCI preferred
Required Skills & Experience
Ability to think strategically assessing options and actions based on trends and conditions in the work At least 10 years’ progressive HR experience, with 4 years in a senior supervisory role, within an international humanitarian/development organization.
Minimum 3 years of field experience with an international humanitarian organizations environment, and the vision and values of the organization
Build partnerships and capacity to build trust
Ability to make decisions and on guiding others to make decisions
Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant in Leadership Groups
Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR staff
Ability to work cooperatively with subordinates, colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels and from all disciplines
Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development.
Willingness and ability to travel, both nationally and internationally
