Role Overview
As the Finance Director for Kenya, you will lead all financial aspects of the country’s financial operations, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, financial rigor, and operational efficiency. This senior leadership role involves overseeing financial planning, operational finance, reporting, and compliance while also serving as a critical business partner to the Kenya Country CEO, Group CFO, and other stakeholders. The FD will play a key role in decision-making across farm operations, logistics, retail, and expansion projects, ensuring the financial health of Victory Farms in Kenya.
You will work closely with the Victory Group Internal Audit & Enterprise Risk Manager to ensure robust governance, risk management, and internal controls across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Finance Oversight:
Oversee end-to-end business processes for farm, lake, logistics, and sales operations, ensuring robust financial controls and efficiency.
Collaborate with the Finance Manager Operations to drive cost-saving initiatives and optimize performance.
Ensure financial operational transactional activities are fully in control with the Accounting/Tax/Treasury Manager
Financial Planning & Analysis:
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes with the FP&A Manager.
Deliver actionable financial insights to support decision-making and monitor profitability across revenue and cost categories.
Risk and Internal Control Management:
Work closely with the Internal Audit & Enterprise Risk Manager to ensure effective risk governance and compliance.
Support the development and implementation of key controls for business and finance.
Provide input for audit reports and participate in Audit and Risk Committee reviews.
Future proof finance team & capabilities:
Simplify, standardise, and automate various processes and activities to lay the foundations for scalability of the business and finance operation
Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Promote advanced business intelligence tools like PowerBI for enhanced analytics and reporting
Cross-company profitability enhancing initiatives
Drive the profitability agenda of the Kenyan organisation with the Country CEO
Support and assess the ROI of various initiatives proposed by the various business lines
Regulatory Compliance and Governance:
Ensure compliance with local tax laws, financial regulations, and company policies.
Work with the Accounting/Tax/Treasury Manager to maintain accurate financial records and manage risks.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
CPA, ACCA, or CFA certification is required.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Eager to display Management Accounting experience
Strong experience in operational finance within FMCG, agriculture, or similar sectors.
Expertise in ERP systems, advanced Excel, and tools like PowerBI for financial modelling and reporting.
