We are seeking an experienced and proactive Researcher to join our team and lead migration-related research and evaluations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in migration policy and programming, and a commitment to producing rigorous, impactful research.
In this role, you will:
Conduct research on migration trends, policies, and their socio-economic impact.
Lead and contribute to evaluations of migration-related programmes.
Examine the intersection of migration with gender, disability, climate change, and economic development.
Engage with policymakers, humanitarian actors, and affected communities to produce actionable recommendations.
Travel occasionally to fragile and conflict-affected areas to support research activities.
This is a full-time position with a three-month probationary period.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Research
Lead research projects on migration, forced displacement, and related themes.
Conduct policy and literature reviews, synthesising insights to inform migration-focused strategies.
Design and implement research methodologies, ensuring ethical and participatory approaches.
Collect and analyse data from primary and secondary sources, applying both qualitative and quantitative techniques.
Produce reports, articles, and briefing papers for clients and wider sector knowledge-sharing.
Project Development
Support the development of migration-focused research projects and funding proposals.
Identify emerging issues and research gaps to inform future project directions.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
PhD or Masters degree in Migration Studies, Development Studies, International Relations, or a related field.
4–7 years of experience conducting migration research.
Expertise in forced migration, displacement, or migration governance.
Knowledge of gender-sensitive and participatory research methodologies.
Experience working with refugee populations, host communities, or displaced groups is highly desirable.
Fluency in English and one of the following: Arabic, Spanish, or French
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Research excellence: Ability to critically analyse migration policies, trends, and programme effectiveness.
Policy understanding: Knowledge of global migration frameworks (e.g., Global Compact for Migration, refugee conventions).
