The Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), also referred to as the Office of the Ombudsman, is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 59 (4) and Chapter Fifteen of the Constitution, as well as the Commission on Administrative Justice Act, 2011. The Commission’s mandate includes, among other responsibilities, investigating any conduct in state affairs, acts or omissions in public administration across all government sectors, and complaints involving abuse of power, unfair treatment, manifest injustice, or unlawful, oppressive, unfair, or unresponsive official conduct.
